Sharks Awards

General Conditions of Entry – applies to all categories

  1. Entries may be made by Advertisers, Advertising Agencies, Production Companies, Creative Consultants, Recording Studios, New Media Consultants or Post Production Facility Houses. Entries may only be made with the prior permission of the Advertiser or Advertising Agency concerned.
  2. Entries at any previous Shark Festivals may not be entered except in the Worldwinner categories.
  3. The Festival Board reserves the right, at its discretion, to exclude any entry submitted.
  4. Entrants will permit the Shark Awards Limited to show, play, duplicate or reproduce entries with a view to promoting the Festival through rectiptions, videotapes, DVD’s CD Rom, websites or other promotional acitivies, and agree to hold the Festival Board harmless of any claims made against it be reason of such use of the entries. Entrants will not be entitiled to a royalty for any such use.
  5. The jury reserves the right not to make any award in any category for any prize.
  6. Advertisements against which a complaint has been upheld by the relevant Advertising Standards Body, will not be accepted.
  7. Where an entry is not in English a clear synopsis or English translation of the voiceover or print copy must be provided on the online entry form.
  8. Please not that Entries will not be considered complete until the full entry fee is submitted.
  9. Any entry unpaid will be removed from competition. Freight and insurance charges for entries in transit are the responsibility of the Entrants or their agents.
  10. No responsibility will be accepted by the Festival Board for any loss or damage in transit. Freight and insurance charges for entries in transit are the responsibility of the Entrants or their agents.
  11. Entries are to be submitted via BEAM TV. Any entry which is submitted by tape/DVD/CD rom (hard copy) requires additional administrative resources. The fees to handle such entries are as follows; First Entry €75 plus VAT, all subsequent entries €35 plus VAT each.
  12. Closing date for entries is 5pm, Friday, August 6th. Any entries sent after this deadline will not be judged and entrants will forfeit entry fees. The Kinsale Shark Awards entry code must be attached to any hard copy material. Winning entries will be reproduced by the Festival on the winning reel. Such reproductions will not be subject to royalty fees.

Broadcast and Promo Conditions of Entry/Eligability

  1. Entries must be produced for Television, Cinema, Web, Radio and have been shown or broadcast publicly for the first time between July 31st 2009 and July 31st 2010. This requirement does not apply to Worldwinner entries.
  2. Single entries longer than 240 seconds or series of entries longer than 360 seconds may not be entered into TV categories. Commercials against which a complaint has been upheld by the relevant Advertising Standards Body, will not be accepted.

Print Conditions of Entry/Eligability

  1. Print entries must be designed for publication in newspapers and/or magazines and have been published for the first time between July 31st 2009 and July 31st 2010. Outdoor entries must be designed for posting on billboards or other public sites and must have been posted for the first time between July 31st 2009 and July 31st 2010. This requirement does not apply to Worldwinner entries.
